J44G #5 This a very nice glass dome display is of a preserved Silk Moth ( Antheraea pernyi) caterpillar or pulpa taken over by a fungi. This would look great in any entomology collection, bug or insect group. It would also serve well in a science classroom setting. The glass dome will keep him safe and clean for years to come! This display is approx. 4 x 3 1/2" with a glass dome and wood base.
Species:Cordyceps (Fungi)
Cordyceps is a genus of ascomycete fungi that includes about 600 worldwide species. Diverse variants of cordyceps have had more than 1,500 years of use in Chinese medicine. Most Cordyceps species are endoparasitoids, parasitic mainly on insects and other arthropods; a few are parasitic on other fungi.
NOTE: If your item is in a glass dome please be aware that the domes are NOT permanently connected to the base. Care has to be taken when opening or removing the dome so not to damage the display or specimen.
