F15J #1.8 This is a taxidermy Octopus that did not make it...I have him showcased in a display that is approx. 9 3/4" x 8" x 2 1/2" with a rope frame, a sand dollar, starfish, sea glass, various shells and "seaweed". He would be great for a classroom presentation or just nice to add to your collection. I do have others that are done in displays, check them out if you get the chance.
Species - Octopus vulgaris, the Common octopus. Octopus vulgaris, the Common Octopus, is found world wide in tropical and semitropical waters from near shallow shores to as deep as 200m. In actuality, most scientists believe that O. vulgaris actually contains a number of related sister species.
These specimens are all by-products of the seafood industry (specifically, left overs from a local fish market) and would have been thrown out to rot otherwise. No animals were harmed specifically for this product.
