Refund policy

We do not accept returns on the following items: fish, wet specimens, single specimen insects, horseshoe crabs, earrings, custom orders, giftcards, and sale items. Other items that we will not except returns on will be noted in the item description. We also have the right to refuse returns at our own discretion.

Return requests must be received within 14 days of receiving your purchase and the item must be returned to us within 30 days of receiving for the return to be accept. The item must be in the same state that you have received it in.

We offer shipping with USPS on all items. Priority, Express, and Ground Advantage covers your purchased items with postal insurance up to $100.00 which will cover damage in shipping in most cases. Higher insurance is available and most items are insured.

If you specifically need FedEX or UPS please contact us first so we can adjust the shipping on that item.

The post office does now require you to bring the item in for inspection to receive postal insurance payouts if your item was damaged in transit.

Contact us with the damage with pictures so that we may instruct you how to move forward. Your refund/discount will be processed once the item is presented at the post office and a receipt from the post office is forwarded to us. In some cases the item will need to be returned to us if the damage is not being covered by USPS. If that happens, we will instruct you on how to return your item to get a refund.

On items that returns are accepted, please contact us at sceniccityoddities@gmail.com if you would like to see about returning an item. Return shipping to be paid by the buyer.  Once the item is returned a refund will be issued. There are no refunds on shipping charges. Postage from items shipped free will be deducted from returned items. Most items that ship free will have a restocking fee listed in the description that will give you the amount that will be deducted from your refund to cover the original cost of shipping.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exchanges
Contact us at sceniccityoddities@gmail.com to move forward with any eligible exchanges.

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 48 hours minus the shipping fee if your item shipped free. Please remember that there are some instances that it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too. 
If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at sceniccityoddities@gmail.com.

All displays will be carefully packed to the best of our ability to insure a safe and damage free arrival. 

When purchasing this item you are agreeing to the following: No claims for small broken parts such as antennae or a detached wing or leg, antennae are so fragile that they cannot be guaranteed in shipping.  Wings and other small parts are easily fixable and you should be aware that you may have to fix (glue but not super glue) a part when purchasing items like these. These are natural specimens and can contain a flaw or two like a shorter antenna or broken or missing leg. 

We do our best to make sure they are close to perfect but a few might get by us although usually the flaw is minor and something that does not deflect from the beauty of the insect itself.
