🌿 Species & Fun Facts: Malacosoma disstria  
The Forest Tent Caterpillar Moth is a striking native North American insect, especially east of the Mississippi River.  Unlike related species (like the eastern tent caterpillar), forest tent caterpillars do not build silk tents. Instead, they spin thin silken mats on tree trunks and large branches to rest or molt on.

  •  NOTE:  If your item is in a glass dome please be aware that the domes are NOT permanently connected to the base. Care has to be taken when opening or removing the dome so not to damage the display or specimen.

Full Insurance Included: Postal insurance (USPS, ShipSaver, etc.) is 100% included in your shipping fees or item pricing.

** In the Unlikely Event of Shipping Damage:
Please contact us as soon as you receive the damaged item and forward pictures of the damaged item, box and label.  We will then determine the best course of action to correct rectify the issue. 
Per standard carrier rules, postal services now require the recipient to bring the damaged item, the original box, and all original packing material into a local post office for a physical inspection before insurance claims are approved. Once you have the item inspected, simply forward us a copy of the postal receipt acknowledging the inspection and USPS damage, and we will process your refund. 
Our priority is secure packaging, saving us both the stress of dealing with shipping issues and trying to avoid these scenarios entirely!

* Return Policy-Applies only to items that accept returns:
If you need to make a return, please contact us as soon as your item arrives.
Timeline: Return requests must be made within 14 days of delivery, and the item must arrive back to us within 30 days of the delivery date.
Condition: Items must be returned in their original condition and original packaging.
Refund Breakdowns:
Buyer pays return shipping. The original item cost is refunded once received.  Shipping costs are non-refundable.

*Incorrect or Insufficient Addresses:
Please double-check your shipping address at checkout! If an item is returned to us by the carrier due to an incorrect or insufficient address:
To Reship: We will happily resend the item to your corrected address once the buyer purchases a new shipping label to cover the secondary postage.  A link for the new postage amount will be sent to the buyer.
For a Refund: We will refund your payment minus the shipping and handling costs, shipping charges are non-refundable.
