x31 #1   This is a very nice Display with a  beautiful Butterfly.   This would look great in any collection and also a great gift for those that love Butterflies!

This is nicely showcased in a shadowbox type frame that suspends him in a clear elasticity film so both sides may be viewed unobstructed!  This can be opened but I advise against it as the specimens or the elasticity strip usually are damaged when you open the display.  Once the display has been opened returns are no longer accepted.  This case will keep him clean and safe for years to come! 

Species: Cramer 88 or 89 Diaethria Clymena 
The genus Diaethri is confined to Central and South America - 3 species are found in Mexico while the remainder are widely distributed across the Amazon and Andes. The butterflies often frequent human dwellings, and are considered a sign of good luck by some communities.
The uppersides of all species are black, marked on the forewings with a diagonal band of metallic blue or green. In some species this colour is repeated on the hindwings in the form of a submarginal band.
The 89 or 88 numerals which appear on the underside hindwings are present in all 12 of the species but vary in colour, thickness and shape. In clymena the lines are quite thick, and the markings often form an '88' figure, while in others such as neglecta and euchids they are thin and form an '89'.
These are quite variable in appearance - in some examples the black markings on the underside are thicker than those shown in the illustrations on this page. In several subspecies the black 89 markings are confluent with the innermost black submarginal line. The white ground colour of the hindwings often becomes dirty and brownish on older specimens, as illustrated below. There are 13 named subspecies distributed variously from Nicaragua to Brazil.

All displays will be carefully packed to the best of our ability to insure a safe and damage free arrival.  If free First class shipping is offered and chosen it does not include insurance.   If you want your item insured in case of damage in shipping please choose Priority Mail, that includes $100. worth of insurance.  Returns are accepted, please contact us ASAP if you would like to return the item. Return shipping to be paid by buyer.  Once the item is returned a refund will be issued minus a $5. restocking fee on each of these items ordered. There are no refunds on shipping charges. Also, before purchasing this item you must agree to the following: No claims for small broken parts such as antennae or a detached wing, antennae are so fragile that they cannot be guaranteed in shipping.  Wings and other small parts are easily fixable and you should be aware that you may have to fix (glue) a part when purchasing items like these.  If there is a major problem I will take care of the matter.  See my feedback for confirmation.  I rarely have a problem but even with good packaging it is impossible for us to Guarantee that specimens will arrive totally intact although I have had no problems with any of the Butterflies to date.  If you pay for Priority Mail your items will be covered by postal insurance and any loss or damage can be claimed, First class shipping does not come with insurance on shipping so no damage claims are accepted.
