y62b box 5 #5 This is a real Bee Eater bird skull and a real preserved honey bee and a flower. I have it nicely showcased in a glass dome display with a wood bottom. The display is 5 1/2" x 2 3/4". This would be a great addition to any collection! It would also work nicely in a classroom for educational purposes.

This species, like other bee-eaters, is a richly colored, slender bird. It is predominantly green; its face has a narrow blue patch with a black eye stripe, and a yellow and brown throat; the tail is blue and the beak is black. The three outer toes are united around their bases. It can reach a length of 23–26 cm, including the two elongated central tail feathers which can jut two inches more than the remaining ten feathers. Sexes are alike. This species is usually found near water and like other bee-eaters it predominantly eats flying insects, especially bees (as large as the Xylocopa sp, wasps and hornets, which are caught in the air by sorties from an open perch. They may also forage in flight over estuaries, backwaters and even over the sea but not far from the coast. This species probably takes bees and dragonflies in roughly equal numbers. The insects that are caught are beaten on the perch to kill and break the exoskeleton. This habit is seen in many other members of the order Coraciiformes. They call mainly in flight with a rolling chirping whistling twerp.

All displays will be carefully packed to the best of our ability to insure a safe and damage free arrival. When purchasing this item you are agreeing to the following: NO CLAIMS FOR SMALL LOOSE OR GLUE RELEASED PARTS. This sometimes happens in shipping and are an easy fix. With skeletons such as birds a head can detach from the post in shipping and need to be reattached due to the glue loosening in transit. These small parts are easily fixable and you should be aware that you may have to fix (glue) a part or two when purchasing items like this and we will direct you through it. We do offer videos that show you exactly how to repair these items as well. We will work with you to correct any problems that may occur as our reviews reflect. I rarely have a problem but even with good packaging it is impossible for us to Guarantee that specimens will arrive totally intact.
With Ground Advantage and Priority mail you will be covered by $100 worth of insurance. If damage occurs in shipping and your item was shipped with Ground Advantage or Priority mail, the post office now requires you to bring the package in to a postal center/office for inspection before any insurance payments will be approved and the item has to be in the original shipping box with all packing as you received still in box. Your refund will be processed once the package has been inspected and the receipt from the post office acknowledging the inspection is forwarded to us. This is an ordeal that no one wants to go through, including us, so we do our best to make sure no one has too!
Please contact us as soon as you receive if you would like to return the item. Returns are accepted if the request is received for the return within 14 days of delivery and the return must be received by us within 30 days of the delivery. Return shipping to be paid by buyer. Once the item is returned a refund will be issued. There are no refunds on shipping charges.
Items that ship free and are returned for incorrect address or insufficient address will be charged a restocking fee or shipping fee to cover initial shipping costs and the balance refunded or given the option to purchase shipping for resending the item with corrected address.
