*** Scenic City Oddities *** Where macabre meets magical.
Welcome to Scenic City Oddities! We handcraft high-quality Victorian Gothic displays, Dark Academia decor, witchy room decorations, and unique cabinet of curiosity items.
- Ethical & Sustainable Taxidermy: We do our absolute best to ensure all natural specimens, including animals, insects, and flora, are ethically and sustainably sourced.
- Victorian Aesthetic (Without the Antique Decay): True Victorian antique displays have often disintegrated and faded over time. Our handcrafted nature displays mimic that beautiful, classic aesthetic using fresh, high-quality preserved flowers, ferns, and real insect and animal art. They are vibrant, durable, and designed to be an eye-catching conversation piece in any home.
- Dark Academia, Goth & Whimsigoth Aesthetics: Many of our pieces embrace the Dark Academia style, blending mystery, surrealism, and the romantic beauty found within macabre art and gothic home decor and romanticism displays.
- The Perfect Unique Gift: Ideal for curio cabinets, man cave decor, or as a unique birthday gift for her, goth girlfriend gift, or oddity lover gift. We specialize in custom displays, anthropomorphic taxidermy, real bone jewelry, handcrafted jewelry, and butterfly domes.
**Special Offer: Buy two or more different items in a single order, add a note that says "gift" at checkout, and we will include a free mystery gift with your order as our way of saying thank you!
** Important Handling & Shipping Information
- Glass Dome Displays: If your item includes a glass cloche, please note that the dome is NOT permanently attached to the base. Use extreme care when lifting or removing the dome to avoid damaging the insect display, animal specimen or floral inside.
- Fragile Elements: We pack every shadow box and taxidermy dome and any other piece with maximum care. However, insect antennae, legs and wings are incredibly fragile. While we do our best to protect them, we cannot 100% guarantee they won't suffer minor damage during transit.
- When purchasing this item you are agreeing to the following: No claims for small broken parts such as antennae or a detached wing, there are no refunds or discounts issued for broken antennae as they are just too fragile to guarantee in shipping. We do suggest using a cat or dog whisker with a drop of glue on the end to replace broken antenna on butterflies. Wings and other small parts are easily fixable, and you should be aware that you may have to fix (glue) a part when purchasing items like these. We do offer a video that can show how to repair small parts with just a touch of glue.
- Shipping Insurance: Shipping insurance is fully included in your shipping fee or item price.
- In Case of Shipping Damage:
- Please contact us immediately and forward pictures of the damaged item, box and box shipping label. We will then determine the best course of action to correct and rectify the issue and present you with options available.
- If your item arrives damaged, the post office now requires the recipient to bring the item, the original box, and all original packing materials to a local postal center for physical inspection before an insurance claim is approved. To receive your refund, you must forward us the official inspection receipt provided by the post office. We will do our best to avoid this stressful situation for both our customers and ourselves.
